Tricky question. But I don't think this will really be an issue, as you have to be the Factions equivalent of Ascended to access Tyria on your Factions char.

Right.. but think about this.
My ascended Necro could go to Canta and pick up Animate Vampiric Horrors. Now, that's going to be a nice skill. But, if I started a Canta Necro, that necro would pick up AVH through natural progression. Think about how many skill quests will be open in Canta that your asceneded characters could complete. Think of the new skills that would be useful for builds that better suit your play style.
Now let's work backwards. Suppose you reach the Factions version of ascencion with a Canta character. We'll say another Necro (b/c I know necros). Suppost you can't get Animate Bone Fiends in canta (b/c unless my info is wrong, they still plan on denying certain Tyria Skills to players who don't have both games). Sure AVH is great, but if you need ranged attack ABF would be better. So, then what? Bring that necro on over to Tyria and get yourself some Bone Fiends.
Then there's the elites. I understand that Canta doesn't have creatuers you can cap Tyria elites from. ANd visa-versa. So, as a Necro, I'd miss Offering of Blood, Well of Power, and other great elites.
Basically, the base 6 character classes will have benefit when going between Canta and Tyria. I know you have to be ascended, but you can always benefit from a new skill. So, why shouldn't my assassin or ritualist be able to benefit from visiting Tyria to gain some new skills?

Well, to me it makes perfect sense that you'd be able to go to Tyria and get skills; having both games allow you access to all skills, so I'd assume you'd be able to buy all skills at skill trainers in both Cantha and Tyria, while you'd be most likely be forced to travel to Tyria to get the great elites.
We still don't know a thing about this, but I PRESUME you'd be able to go get skills in Tyria.

Although, I highly doubt they'll put Assassin or Ritualist Elites in Tyria. It'd be nice to find something though.
oh well... We'll see when it releases.

What if you merged your two keys;
1. Could you create a core character in Pre-Sear with Sin or Rit as secondary?
2. Could they not have quests in both Cantha and Tyria to give skill rewards for characters in both.
Tyria Example: Ranger/Monk gets quest Blood and Smoke at Ettin's Back from Deep Root. Rewards 2,500XP Savage Shot and Protective Spirit.
Cantha Example: Ranger/Ritualist gets quest Find the Dongle at The Undercity from Wisdom Tooth. Rewards 2,500XP Savage Shot and Gaze from Beyond.
3. Since there are no skill rewards after you have Ascended all skills should be available for all professions (primary and secondary) in both Tyria and Cantha.
4. Elites will have to be capped from there respective locations.
Would you be able to cap an Assassin skill in Tyria? Will there be Assassin and/or Ritualist bosses to fight in Tyria? Either way the Assassin and Ritualist will be cut short in the overall number of skills available compared to the core professions.

1. No. Galie has already said you can only make assassin and ritualist characters in Cantha.
2 Doubtful.
3 Reach Ember Light and the equivelent in Cantha and you will.
4 Duh.
Assassins and Ritualists will always have less skills then the other classes. No need to spread them out over Tyria since they will all already be in Cantha.

Hawk .. that makes sense, but one can hopethey create special characters that appear only in Tyria if you have Factions players in your party with an A or Rt as part of their setup.
I also wonder if you're ascended in Tyria, will you have to complete Canta before you can pick up the A and Rt, or will that part be available earlier?
(it's prob obvious that you'd have to complete, but... curiousity until ANet says otherwise)

They did say that you can choose a birth place of your characters, as far as being able to do that with the Assassins and Ritualists maybe not, same goes with skills. Have to wait and see what happens at the release.
Having to travel to Tyria and buying as secondary skills for the six core class for the Assassins and Ritualists would be a big pain.

Yeah, I noticed in Factions Weekend, that you could. I chose a Mesmer born in Canta. the funny thing is I was still able to keep her, even though Factions is over. Oh well....
Either way, I heard rumor of a 2nd Expansion/Addition coming in late fall. I wonder if they'll let you choose birth place for assassins then?
Either way, we'll see how it all works out, once it's out (and some of us 24 hrs earlier).

It’s not a rumor in six months form now Anet said that Chapter 3 will be released. They have been working on it a few months ago. Not a lot is known yet about Chapter 3 so perhaps you can choose to have your birth place there.

Then it's probably going to be a new set of classes that you can't cap elites and such from in old areas.. urgh.
Unless they read this thread and actually follow up on something like this.
